[Activities](https://train.singerequipment.com/knowledge-base/hubspot?hsLang=en#activities) September 9, 2026 # How Do I Track Email Opens and Clicks in HubSpot? ## Track an email opens and, when available, link clicks to monitor recipient engagement in HubSpot. ### Track Email Engagement **Step 1 — Create an email.** Create your email from a HubSpot record or from your connected email client using the HubSpot Sales extension or add-in. **Step 2 — If using the plug-in, select track and log if you want the email saved to the CRM record.** If you are sending an email from the HubSpot plug-in, select the **Track** and **Log** checkbox before sending the email. Tracking allows HubSpot to monitor when the recipient opens the email. **Track** and **Log** are separate functions. - **Track** monitors email engagement. - **Log** saves a copy of the email to the HubSpot record. For emails: - HubSpot can notify you when a contact opens the email. - Users with an assigned Sales Hub seat can also track when a recipient clicks a link in the email.
