Unsafe Delivery Condition

Stop before attempting the delivery.

If the path, dock, stairs, ground, weather, or customer situation feels unsafe, do not try to complete the delivery yet.

safe vs unsafe delivery conditions

 First 3 actions

1. Move to a safe spot.
2. Take a photo of the unsafe condition.
3. Check for a safer option — another entrance, dock, ramp, or receiving contact.

Then call Dispatch

Be ready to explain:

- Customer name
- Stop number
- What is unsafe
- Whether there is another possible entrance
- Whether product is still secured in the truck

What to say

“I’m at [customer]. The delivery path is unsafe because [issue]. I checked for another entrance and [found/did not find] one. I have a photo. How should I proceed?”

Do not

- Do not carry product over unsafe stairs, ice, mud, or unstable ground.
- Do not leave product outside or unsecured.
- Do not let the customer pressure you into an unsafe delivery.
